Cedarwood Essential Oil

We’ve been having a few “sleep issues” at my house as you have probably read in my previous posts. Unfortunately, it’s not just me, but my hubby as well.   I decided a couple months ago to try diffusing Cedarwood Essential Oil in our room. I had applied lavender to our pillows & even diffused it alone in the past, but it didn’t really provide the “oomph” we needed. We would sleep a bit but wake up. Since I added Cedarwood  to our diffuser we have noticed a HUGE difference.  I have to say, it is pretty AMAZING!

Cedarwood Essential Oil

Young Living says this about Cedarwood

Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) has a warm, balsamic, woody aroma. It is relaxing and soothing when used for massage, and has long been used as a beneficial ingredient in cosmetic preparations for oily skin.

A Bit About Cedarwood Just Because…..

Cedarwood was in use by the Egyptians over 5000 years ago and is believed to have been the first essential oil to be distilled.

Cedarwood stimulates the limbic region of the brain (the center for emotions) and the pineal gland, which releases melatonin. Melatonin plays an important role in establishing sleep cycles.  Cedarwood oil’s calms and sooth nerves.  **

Ways To Use Cedarwood

  1. Diffuse- 2-3 drops of oil in diffuser
  2. Inhale
  3. Topical- May use “Neat” or diluted with a carrier oil.  If using it “Neat” always test with a small amount first

Refer to the back of the Young Living Essential Oil bottle and/or an Oil Reference Guide for complete instructions on how to use Cedarwood.  It is ALWAYS a good idea to have an essential oils reference guide. Click here for some great resources & reference guide suggestions.
