DIY Essential Oils Springtime Seasonal Support Roll- On

So, I have to make a confession, I am a HUGE wanna- be DIYer. I LOVE watching those DIY shows on TV.   Honestly, I look at something & say that is soooo cute & looks so easy, I can do that!  When my twins were about 2 yrs. old I remember thinking… “Those homemade Halloween costumes are so much cuter than ones I buy- I know I can make their costumes!”   So, I went out & bought a basic sewing machine that was on clearance.  I took it home & it sat in the closet for many years unopened.  Another time, I HATED the “fake brick” walls in my kitchen (It was a 100+ yr. old home.)  So after watching a DIY show, I decided I would “re-do” our kitchen walls & make them exactly what I wanted.  So I started chipping off the fake brick & with it came chunks of plaster exposing the lathe boards beneath. I can’t begin to tell you how surprised & NOT so happy my hubby was when he came home from a business trip to find our kitchen walls a TOTAL mess.  (These DIY projects are kind of running joke in my house now!)  So you can see I TRULY do want to be a DIY.   One great & easy “project” I successfully made was a DIY  Essential Oils Springtime Seasonal Support Roll-On. If you read my previous post you know that I take Lavender, Lemon, & Peppermint every day in capsule which helps tremendously. (Just a reminder these oils are found in the Premium Starter Kit)  Sometimes however, I need an extra “boost”, such as when I am getting ready to go sit & watch at my son’s baseball or soccer games. So, I pull out my handy, dandy DIY Essential Oils Springtime Seasonal Support Roll-On,  roll a little on & I am good to go!!

Step 2

  1. Top off the 15 ml. with a carrier oil after the Lemon, Lavender, & Peppermint Oils have been added.  I use Young Living’s V-6, but any carrier oil will do.

Step 3

  1. Place roller on bottle (Be sure to get a metal roller- the citrus oils can break down the plastic producing toxins)
  2. Place cap on bottle & gently roll or shake the bottle to mix it.
  3. Place label on bottle

Ready To Go!!

Voila~ You are done!! How easy is that!!  I roll this on the back of my neck or wrists when I need an extra “boost”.  The size is great too- it fits nicely into my pocketbook, tote or even pocket to pull out when I’m at those baseball fields!!  The great thing about a DIY Seasonal Discomfort Roll-On, is that you can individualize it to get the seasonal support YOU need.  You may decide you want to “tweak” it by adding another oil i.e. vetiver,  if you’re not quite getting “enough” support.  Honestly, if I can do it, anyone can!!   By the way I still have that sewing machine – maybe I’ll use it for my grandchildren someday!

Springtime Seasonal Support Using Essential Oils

Add subtitle text(1)

The temperatures have been steadily rising here in Michigan- 40’s & 50’s with snow melting- Yeah!!   After the cold weather & snow I am sooooo ready for spring with the warmer temperatures, sunshine, & budding trees and flowers. With these welcome changes comes the NOT so welcome changes of Springtime Seasonal discomfort. You know… stuffiness, scratchy throat, itchy ears, &/or “drippy nose”   This year, even though we’ve moved from the East Coast to the Mid West,  I am not worried.  I am using Lemon, Lavender, & Peppermint Essential Oils to help support my Springtime Seasonal Discomfort.  Even more exciting I no longer have any OTC’s in my medicine cabinet for the much-needed springtime seasonal support my family & I need.  Yeah!!  🙂

Lemon, Lavender, & Peppermint

The Essential Oil combination of Lemon, Lavender, & Peppermint works great for us.  I know many people who are successful in combating the seasonal symptoms using Lavender oil alone.  Lavender essential oil is known as an adaptogen which helps the body cope with stress and other imbalances it encounters.  However, I quickly found that we needed,  what I affectionately refer to as- “The Big Gun.”   My “Big Gun” is the combination of Lemon, Peppermint, & Lavender Essential Oils. You can read more about Lemon & Peppermint Oils in a previous post & Lavender by clicking here.  I am stocking up on those 3 oils! Just an FYI:  Lemon, Peppermint, & Lavender are in the Premium Starter Kit!

Seasonal Discomforts

My Essential Oil Use for Springtime

To make the “Big Gun” I put 3 drops each of Lavender, Peppermint, and Lemon Essential Oil in a vegetable capsule and top it off with a carrier oil (I use Young Living’s V6)    We take it orally two times daily. The great thing about Essential Oils is that you can “tweak” them to suit your personal needs. You may only need to use lavender or you may only need it once a day. It is all dependent upon what YOU need.

Helpful Tips for Seasonal Support with Essential Oils

  • Put a drop of each oil in your hand and rub your hands together and inhale. Ahhh!  What an invigorating & great smell!!
  • Put 1 drop of Lavender on your finger and wipe under the nose.
  • Combine 20-30 drops of Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint Essential Oil in a roller bottle. Top off the rest of the bottle with a carrier oil. Apply topically as needed to the back of the neck, bottom of the feet, &/or on the wrists.
  • Diffusing:  Add a few drops of Essential Oil of your choice a diffuser.

Always check your bottle label to make sure that it is recommended as a dietary supplement (a.k.a can be taken internally).  If so, follow the directions on the bottle.

Another suggestion is to check an Essential Oil Reference book for oil usages, however always follow the bottle 1st.  You can click here to find some great Essential Oil Reference Book suggestions. (FYI:  I also give a FREE Essential Oil Reference Book or phone App if you decide to purchase a Premium Starter Kit.)
